A Conference Unlike Any Other
Diabetes in pregnancy is about much more than titrating insulin.
It's a multifaceted condition that demands a collaborative approach.
From Lab to Labor: Advancing Diabetes Care is unique in its focus on the entire health care team, strengthening connections across critical disciplines, and ensuring that we are moving forward, together.
Featuring:
Beyond Carb Counting: Unlocking Optimal Nutrition in Diabetic Pregnancy
For so long, guidance on nutrition in pregnancy has boiled down to: "eat for two". But we now know so much more about the role food can play in healthy pregnancy.
In this one-of-a-kind conference section, moderators Mark Landon, MD, and Patrick Catalano, MD, will be your tour guides through the broadening landscape of nutritional science for diabetic pregnancy. You'll hear from experts on topics such as:
- New strategies for optimal health through nutrition
- Saying goodbye to restriction and hello to balance
- Ultra-processed foods and the risk of GDM
- Breastfeeding, weaning, and diabetes
Diabetes and Pregnancy: Priorities and Funding Opportunities
Medical research and novel interventions require funding. But in the current landscape, funding feels more out of reach than ever.
In this first-of-its-kind section, moderators E. Albert Reece, MD, and Peixin Yang, PhD will welcome high-ranking officials from several funding institutions to give you the inside scoop on how funds are awarded, what funders want, and what to look out for in the future.
Featuring:
- Dr. Michael Warren MD, MPH, FAAP, Chief Medical and Health Officer at the March of Dimes
- Dr. Denise Bonds, MD, MPH, Senior Clinical Program Officer at Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI)
- Janine Austin Clayton, MD, FARVO, NIH Associate Director for Research on Women's Health & Director, NIH Office of Research on Women's Health
